I did some painting on friday night. The first two are more complete than the others but I am not sure that they are done. suggestions? I also don't know if i should go in the same direction with the yellow and blue ones as i did with the brown and reddish ones. stay with the sharpie/sketchy/ness of the other two or no?

recent stuff

Just a few pieces I have been working on. The top three are a series. I really like the simplicity in all of them but I am afraid that they look too unfinished. ideas?

This is my third piece still in progress. The idea is the movement of nerve signals sent throughout the body. It still needs work but for right now I am content. I just need some time to step away from it and then figure out what its missing.

First Two

These are my first two concentrations. The orange/red one represents the curling of burning wood in a wild fire. The green/yellow one represents the bubbling of scum on the top of a pond. eww.

Concentration Ideas

After some thinking I came up with a very broad idea and am now trying to narrow it down. Here it goes:
-organic vs. industrial
-shapes
-movement in nature (ex: river)
-control vs. free flowing
-visual descriptions (ex: wind moving using texture, shape, form)
Off of that Christine, Katie and I came up with these moving subjects that could be turned into a piece:
-water -clouds
-light -flowers (growing, dying)
-moss/tree (sketch on previous post?) -thunder/lightning
-leaves falling -sound
-rain/snow -time
-bubbles -blood/cells/neurons
-waves -smell
-steam -planets/orbits (not a huge fan, but it might work)
-volcanoes

Concentration Sketches

These are a few random ideas for my concentration. The first reminds me of moss growing or creeping around a tree. The next two are the same with some digital changes. The combination of line and shape make me think of dust particles moving in the sunlight. Thoughts?
