Just a few pieces I have been working on. The top three are a series. I really like the simplicity in all of them but I am afraid that they look too unfinished. ideas?
random!?!? um.. i love these. I don't know what to do to the series peices, I really like them but i do think they look a bit unfinished. mabe if you did somre mre layering and maybe a more complex background, using the same color but maybe adding texture or different values? behind the black drip things? hahahaha then itd be more complete seeming? anyways just my thoughts. who knows!
I like the series too, but it is a bit unfinished. Maybe if you addedd white contour lines it would look finished, and fit with your other pieces. You should keep it simple, but it does need a little more.
I love it the simplicity is amazing! I don't know what it is but I like that it is not chaotic, it is peaceful and a break for my eyes. Just something to gaze at and not feel a rush of emotions that clog my brain as I attempt to decipher the artists thoughts. This is something I would hang in my room!
i really love the color choice and your use of line in the red piece. i also think the piece that continues on three canvases is very well done, it's very simple and yet looks finished
I like the top tryptic, but I do feel that it looks a little unfinished. I love the simplicity in the forms, but you can create the illusion of simplicity without the piece being totally simple. Little touches of detail placed correctly could add a lot of character and finished look without making the piece deatailed as a whole. I think if you were to experiment with thin, lighter accent lines on the black drips it might make them come out more from the background to look more 3D/realistic. I think the main issue is that there isn't much going on in the background. If you were to add some sort of contrast of shadows, color, or a tad of texture it would be really good. I like in the first one where you have left some white spots and used a dry brush for texture. I think if you were to continue that idea and then maybe push it with a touch of a gentle dark in the right places it could do wonders! love the last piece, by the way. I'm loving the red contour line thing going on.
